Ximena & Cheves

We’re Getting Married!

Ximena and Cheves joyfully request the pleasure of your company as we speak our vows and join in marriage in the presence of family and friends.

We’ll kick things off with a nonsectarian ceremony set against the stunning backdrop of volcano views—yes, it’s as dreamy as it sounds! After we say “I do,” we’ll take a few photos, sip on cocktails, and savor a delicious Guatemalan menu full of flavor and love, then we’ll dance the night away at the reception.

Wear whatever makes you feel fabulous—glamorous, gorgeous, or boogie! Life doesn’t give us many chances to dress up, so go ahead and have fun with it. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! .

Q+A

If you still have questions, please contact Ximena at +1 (865) 566-3764

How do I get to Antigua Guatemala?

Antigua is about one hour from Guatemala City’s main airport, La Aurora International Airport (GUA). The best and safest way to get there is by using Uber, which is a reliable, easy-to-book option commonly used by travelers. We recommend only using Uber for safety and convenience. We are also working on coordinating a shuttle bus option for guests arriving on Friday and Saturday—if you are interested contact Ximena for details!

Do I need a passport or visa to travel to Guatemala??

Yes, all international guests will need a valid passport to enter Guatemala. U.S. passport holders do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days. Just make sure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates!

Is it safe to travel to Guatemala?

Absolutely! Guatemala is full of friendly, welcoming people. Like with any international travel, it’s normal to feel a bit nervous—but we encourage you to relax and enjoy the beauty around you. Just keep your valuables secure and, in Guatemala City, avoid using your phone on the street or in the car. Antigua Guatemala is very safe, and you’ll find it to be a peaceful, tourist-friendly town where you can enjoy your time with ease. Just stay aware of your surroundings, and you’ll have a wonderful experience!)

Can I drink the tap water in Guatemala?

It’s best to stick to bottled or filtered water while in Guatemala. Most hotels and restaurants provide safe drinking water, and we’ll make sure there’s plenty of clean water available throughout the wedding events too!

What should I pack for the trip?

Antigua in March experiences warm days and cooler evenings, with daytime highs ranging from 77°F to 80°F, and nighttime temperatures that can drop as low as 60°F. We recommend bringing light clothing for the daytime, a light jacket or sweater for the evenings, and comfortable walking shoes (cobblestone streets!). Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and your outfit for the celebration!

What currency is used in Guatemala, and how should I handle money while I’m there?

Guatemala uses the Guatemalan Quetzal (GTQ). U.S. dollars are not widely accepted, so it’s a good idea to exchange some money upon arrival or withdraw quetzales from an ATM. You can exchange U.S. dollars for quetzales at the airport, which is convenient if you'd like to have local currency right away. Credit cards are accepted in most hotels and tourist spots, but it’s helpful to have cash for markets, taxis, and smaller vendors. Be sure to notify your bank of international travel before your trip!

We hope you’ll join us on this special day.
